About Interior Design AE
Interior Design AE is a reference publication about interior design, fit-out and renovation in the United Arab Emirates, written for villa owners, tenants and fit-out contractors. The site was founded in 2026, publishes in British English, and states every price in UAE dirhams (AED) with the year the price was published.
What Interior Design AE publishes
The site publishes reference articles in three sections: Costs and planning, Approvals and codes, and Climate and comfort. Each article answers one question a resident or contractor in the UAE asks in practice, such as what a villa fit-out costs per square foot in 2026, which Dubai authority issues a permit for interior modification, or what SHGC value a window must meet under Al Sa'fat.
Each article is written from documents fetched at the time of writing: Dubai Municipality and Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport publications, DEWA tariff pages, manufacturer data sheets, and dated price guides from licensed contractors. Every figure in an article carries a year and a link to the page it came from.
What the site does not do
The site does not sell design services, does not list or rank contractors, does not accept paid placements, and does not run affiliate links. The site has no advertising network, no comment system and no user accounts. The articles are general reference material, not professional advice for a specific project; a fit-out in the UAE needs a licensed consultant and contractor registered with the authority for the plot.
Who writes the articles
The Interior Design AE editorial team, a group of editors based in the UAE, writes, sources and checks every article published on the site. The team is reached at info@interior-design.ae.org for corrections, source requests and questions about the content. The editorial policy page describes how sources are chosen, how figures are checked and how corrections are handled.
